The Brooklyn Skate Garden Wins 300k in Local Participatory Budgeting

The Pablo Ramirez Foundation announced that the Brooklyn Skate Garden was officially awarded $300K in the Participatory Budgeting Vote! The local community in District 39 in Brooklyn, NY voted to make this happen. They all agreed that Brooklyn needs and deserves a world-class eco-green skate garden.

We appreciate all of the BSG volunteers + everyone who showed up to canvas, hang posters, talk up the Brooklyn Skate Garden.  Everyone who made flyers, buttons, printed our posters, laminated, sent emails, made and edited videos, wrote press releases, shared our stories and posts. Everyone who voted if you were eligible and told your friends to vote too. Everyone who put their hearts into this project during this time —-we can’t thank you enough for all of your hard work and support. A huge thank you goes to @brad.lander and the entire team of volunteers and delegates @pbnyc39 for all their support in orchestrating the entire PB process. PB is true democracy in action. We are so grateful and thankful that this seed money will be what the BSG needs to grow the project. This is truly going to benefit so many people in Brooklyn and beyond. The Brooklyn Skate Garden is a testament of the legacy of Pablo’s ethos; love, connection and community.  We’re one step closer to growing this beautiful garden.
